Doing business with Thos. R. Paddock on the web is quite similiar to walking in to our showroom; many of the same business policies apply. We've done everything possible to ensure that your cyberspace experience will be as informative, positive, and service-oriented as if you were standing in our showroom. Here's how our web-originated sales work.

Contact Us: When you find a rug (or several rugs) that interest you, you can contact us by phone, fax, or email. Just let us know a few things:

  • Which Oriental rug(s) you're interested in (please include the stock number for individual rugs, or the design number and size range for the program collections)
  • The manner in which you wish to be contacted (phone, fax, postal address, or email)
  • Any questions that you might have

We'll Contact You: Within 24 hours, we will assign an Oriental rug specialist who will contact you to answer your questions and confirm the availability of your Oriental rug(s) or make recommendations for similar pieces.

Reservations: After we contact you, the Oriental rug(s) you select will be put on hold for you for 10 business days, during which time you can decide if wish to continue.

Purchase on Approval: To be sure that an Oriental rug is right for your space, it is extremely important to try it in the space it will occupy. We think that this is so important to your satisfaction that we insist on in-home trials as part of our normal sales process. If you decide to place an order, you should contact us by telephone or electronic mail to arrange payment. Once payment is received, we'll ship the Oriental rug(s) to you within two business days. Please refer to the shipping link at left for more details on our shipping policies.

15-Day Trial Period: Once you receive your Oriental rug(s), we recommend that you take at least a week to consider your purchase. View it in different lighting conditions and at different times of day to ensure that you've got precisely the look you want. If the carpet proves to be unsatisfactory for any reason, you can simply return it. From the day you receive your Oriental, you'll have 15 days to return it for a full refund. As you might expect, rugs must be returned in same condition they were received. You will be responsible only for the shipping charges.

Exchanges: After 30 days, you can return the Oriental rug(s) for full-price credit toward any future purchase. Rugs must be returned in good condition. Please refer to the Exchanges link at left for more detailed information on our generous Exchange policy.

Appraisals: If you have an Oriental rug that was not purchased from us, and you'd like to trade it in, we will need to do an appraisal. We'll determine the fair retail value of your Oriental rug, and let you know if the rug qualifies for our inventory. If you agree with the appraisal, we will apply 75% of the fair retail value toward a trade-in purchase. Appraisals done for this purpose are free of charge; please refer to the Appraisals link at left for more detailed information on our appraisal policies and services.

Inventory Purchases: If, instead, you elect not to purchase another Oriental rug, we will return your Oriental rug to you, or-if it qualifies for our inventory-we may arrange to purchase the Oriental rug directly from you at 30 to 50% of its current market value. The percentage will be determined by our estimation of the Oriental rug's saleability.
